Just back and very tired!!

Just landed after the 2 hour drive from Manchester and a little tired but we have had a great time.

The Villa (booked through here (Not sure if we are allowed to promote particular owners or villas on here) was just superb, A great convenient location just off the 192 in Kissimmee. A real haven for the hussle and bustle of the theme parks.

It was just the 2 of us - no kids in tow so generally no arguments about what we did which day, we alternated a theme park day with a chill out day and the pace suited us well (we skipped Universal this tine so had 5 Disney days and 2 Sea World days)

Highlights-

Wishes Fireworks - simply awesome and way better than I remember from the last time we were there.

Manta in Seaworld - a great coaster - (pity Jan couldn't stump up the courage to ride)

Expedition Everest in AK - another great ride _ managed to get Jan on this by telling her it was a little like Big TM in MK - sucker!!![}

Very nice meals in both the Red Lobster on International Drive (Long been a favourite of ours) and Maggianos - little Italy - watch out for the big portions here though.

Quality of service and produce in the nearby Publix - supermarket, great for buying stuff to cook back at the villa.

Believe, in fact all the shows in Seaworld were really good.

Lows-

Not particularly impressed with our airline and hire car (Not booked via here). Used both co's before - the first aircraft out was not properly cleaned and the cabin crew were shall we say a bit 'up themselves'. Meals out and back were pretty awful - not what we expected at all from a major carrier.

As to the car - well I know we went economy but really no central locking!! - never had that before with a car in Florida (this was our fifth trip) and to be honest a bit of a security risk as we kept forgetting to check all the doors were locked.

We will think very carefully about were and who we book with next time.

Yes I'm afraid it was and very disappointed we were too - having used them before 5 years ago it did come as a surprise that the quality of service has slipped so.

An example - we boarded and immediately noticed that Jan's table would not fold down correctly and would not sit level and flat - it looked like it had been like that some time. On speaking to the cabin attendant her best shot was

Snooty cabin crew member - well we can't fix it as we don't carry an engineer!! You could have another tray with your meal on - (I failed to see how this was going to help as the meals are served on trays anyway)

Me - no you are missing my point is it possible to swap to another seat with a working table

Snooty cabin crew member - no the flight is full, no apology, zilch.

I wasn't looking for a swap to upper class or anything like that or a refund on the ticket price which would clearly have been disproportionate and out of the question - an extra complimentary glass of wine or other drink may have just given the impression they were at least bothered by the issue - the lasting impression I have of them is that they just couldn't care less.

The thing is you just know that if the man himself (RB) had personally witnessed the exchange something positive would have been done - it seems his personal ethos does not transfer to all his colleagues.

But I don't want to dwell too much on the bad VA experience as overall the holiday was great, as I say the villa was superb and the theme parks were really on their metal this year. And as I say we have used VA before and been very happy - I may have just been unlucky.
