    Tuscan Hills

We've been let down by the owner of the villa we had booked in Davenport Lakes (not really his fault, recession fault) and am about to confirm an alternative (just waiting for the booking form to arrive) in Tuscan Hills.

Am i right in thinking this is just a little further down the 27 and on the same side as Davenport lakes??

    Is it a gated community?

Anyone anything good or bad to say about it?

I like the place...a mix of villas and town homes...I believe it is gated...I think it was built by the same company that built The Countryside on Tuscan Ridge...not been in the place since it was finished..

Yes it is on Florence Villa Grove Road. You can get to the parks by turning right out of the gates and following the road to the crossroads.Turn left here -this is Westside Boulevard- and follow the road to the 192 turn right and you are on your way.Coming back turn left at the 4th set of traffic lights after the 429 flyover. This route will avoid the nasty corner that is at the end of the 192 and 27.

[/quote]I've just looked on msn maps and can see the route you mean.

    What is Westside Boulevard like?

I know from staying at Emerald Island that parts of Funie Steed Road are just a dirt track and best avoided, is it proper well lit road or just dirt track?

I've had another look using that new google streetview feature. That appears to have been done about 18 months to 2 years ago judging by the construction etc at Tuscan Hills.

Westside looks a good road except google streetview has a gap halfway down. Presumably now all construction in the area is complete and it's a good road to use?

Does it really save much time though compared to using the 192 and 27? Distance wise it looks about the same?

Yes it does save quite a lot of time compared with using the 192 and 27 and it is all complete road now and very good to use.

Is the gap Funie Steed ? When they eventually finish this road it will eliminate the use of 192 right until the Formosa Gardens area which will be good.Distance wise it is about the same but has far less traffic on it and it means you don't need to negotiate the nasty bend at the end of the 192 to get onto the 27
