Disney's free dining offer

Hi, we have noticed that on Disney's special offers they are offering free dining between certain dates if you book 5 nights or more. Does anyone know much about this offer, which eating places would be involved and what is the <span style="color:red">Disney quick (counter) service dining plan</span id="red">?

Are you limited to your hotel area or can you dine across Disney/ reservations.

Any help is appreciated with this as we have never stayed at Disney hotel before, normally we have a villa.
