    Florida Sales Tax

Is it possible to reclaim Florida Sales Tax for purchases the same way that visitors to our shores can claim back the VAT?

    How?

    TIA

I believe you can but you have to pay VAT in the UK. This is the same for visitors to the UK, they pay the tax in their home country.
It is less hassle to just pay the difference at customs.

No it's not possible to get a refund as Florida sales tax isn't a national thing like VAT is here but a County thing so different Counties have different levels of tax.

However, I think a couple of large stores (Bloomingdales or Macys?) you can register for their price less tax card.

Mmm...to pay VAT you would have to declare yout purchases. And if I make an internet purchase I still have to pay FST (or whatever state), and also run the risk of having to pay import duty and VAT.
I guess it is probably best and not worth the hassle as you guys suggest.
    Thanks for the advice.

Big stores give you a discount card, you just have to show your passport or ID proving you're a foreigner (sometimes they just trust you without ID). You just have to go to the information desk and ask. The discount card covers the sales tax. In Chicago a lot of stores do that, don't know about Orlando, but I would think at least the big national stores will follow that policy. I'm pretty sure I've read about that somewhere on this forum (Shopping section?).
