If I remember rightly the colouring scheme is similar but the fat content is expressed in percentages and I think our semi skimmed equivalent is 1%

Semi skimmed is 2% and skimmed is 1$ or full fat is whole milk. I've been trying to find the UK equivalent of half and half if anyone knows?

I always found the 2% was more creamy than the UK semi-skimmed and found 1% more palatable and not nearly as watery as our skimmed milk.. We bought ours from Publix so don't know if the brands differ by shop.

Don't rely on the colour of the tops because each supermarket has its own system! What's a red top in one supermarket is probably something quite different in another so always read the labels.

We've always understood that 4% = full cream milk, 2% = semi skimmed and 1% is skimmed although I think you can get 0% also in some supermarkets.
