Hi Renee, welcome to the forum[msnsmile2]
Kim
[msnwink]
Bonjour!!
Mon Français n'est pas si bien. Tu as pris des vols depuis Paris? Quel compagnie?
Anyway, we found flights from Nantes - Madrid - Miami, quite cheap but I've read bad reviews about Iberia......[msnsad]
Leaving from CdG is quite a bit more expensive (1000 euros for the 5 of us). As for the TGV, we wouldn't want to switch from one gare to the next with all our luggage. Any other options?
Merci pour ton réponse!
I've never met someone who has had a good experience with Iberia, so I've avoided them especially on transatlantic flights. But it's all hear-say....[?] Thay ARE cheaper on most routes, it's true, but I never could bring myself to take the chance.[msnembarrased]
British Airways flies to Gatwick from Bordeaux, if you can get there. Then Virgin Atlantic is often the cheapest choice, specially if the pound is low. We're doing that in June. BA often has sales and you want to check the prices to Tampa, which is only about one hour away but can be way cheaper.
I've traveled quite often to the US, either Bordeaux/CDG/US port of entry OR Bordeaux/London (sometimes with a change of airports)/US port of entry. Both routes have worked fine.
We've had friends visiting from the US last year and they took the TGV in CDG, and they loved it. You don't have to change stations, if you takea direct train from Nantes to CDG (I just checked, there are direct trains). You need to be careful to type AEROPORT CDG 2 TGV (95) for your destination. Then it's just under CDG terminal 2, you climb the stairs, and you're there. Easy.
I'm sending by DM you the name of the website I use for my tickets, and since you have time I would subscribe to all the companies newsletter to hear about the sales.
Nathalie
Thanks a lot Nathalie. I will reply to your DM later.
salut, Renée
