travelling from Austria

Hi

having used these forums for our last visit to orlando and finding the advice very useful, i wonder if you could help me out. Since our last visit we have moved and now live in austria! I can not find deals or direct flights from salzburg or munich. Would it be easier to take a flight back to the uk and travel from there, also the theme park pass offers i used last time originated in the uk. We would like to go this september if possible, although i wonder if we should wait for the harry potter attraction to open. We stayed in villas last time and it was great but my husband would like to stay in the disney parks for 2 weeks, i am not so sure, lots of questions here i know, any advice would be welcome

Hi Sue there are a few airlines that fly from Salzburg, but cannot find direct flights.

You could try Salzburg to Frankfurt as I think that Lufthansa still run a direct flight to OIA.

If your planning on staying in a Disney hotel for two weeks instead of a villa you will need a serious increase in your budget. I would get some prices for both and do some comparisons, also do not forget to add the cost of Disney food as opposed to other sources.

You can still buy your theme park tickets from the link above and also get a hire car through the link above. As previously mentioned you will need much deeper pockets if staying at a Disney hotel.

Lufthansa fly direct to Orlando International from both Frankfurt & Munich and have good connections from Salzburg.

Delta fly Munich to Atlanta with a short connection to Orlando.

[/quote]Lufthansa do not fly direct to Orlando from Munich, although they do so from Frankfurt. There are no direct scheduled flights on any carrier from Munich to Orlando. You might be able to get a charter via somelike like TUI but again I think it's unlikely.

Salzburg is even smaller and I'm not aware of any direct flights from there to Orlando either.

Personally I prefer to make the connection in the USA, and thus avoid the busy immigration at Orlando. Charlotte is a particular favourite and is served direct from Munich by LH.
