    Childrens passport photo

Im not sure if this is the right forum.

We are travelling to Orlando in Apr 09. My son will be just turned four but we have had his passport since he was one.

I need to know if he will need his photo updating. He has obviously changed a lot but the passport is still valid until he is five.

Just wondering if anyone has had a similar issue.

    Thanks

    Louise

The photo is valid as long as the passport is, so you are fine

ON the passport site it says you have to change it if it is not a current likeness - I had this problem with my son , he changed a lot from age 10 to 15!Grew 2 foot and shaved However I only got told to change it once, and it was up for renewal then

We never had a problem before our middle child changed her passport when she hit the grand old age of 6.
She first travelled when she was 4 months, so her picture was taken at about 2 months old.
You can imagine how accurate it looked when she was 5.....I suppose it helped that we shaved her head, whacked a dummy in her mouth and told her not to speak [msnwink]

She would have had 8 trips on the original passport at varying ages as well so I' sure it will be fine.

My daughters first passport had a photo taken on the day she was born and she traveled with it for 5 years without any problems. I remember ringing the passport office help line to double check on this at the time as I too was concerned about the photo. You might want to do this also just to put your mind at rest[msnsmile]

I didn't think this was an issue?
Our eldest will have less than 6 months left on our next trip but I wasn't going to renew it.

Anyone know the definitive on this?

You are correct Brizzle, the UK has a waiver on this issue. It is on the US immigration website somewhere as I checked it out (and printed it in case the airline staff were not up to date)last year when my husband only had a month to run after his return. It just needs to be valid for your length of stay.
