    Nervous Flyer

    Hi,

Having been to Orlando 3 time and having flown solo in a plane, I cannot get to grips with being a passenger in an aircraft!! Last time when we got off the plane at SFB I felt so ill with headache and sweating. To be honest its mainly any turbulece which happens on the return and I usually stand up for the whole flight!!

Can anyone recommend anything I can take to help me through the flight? I though of asking for sleeping tablets or something to calm me down but im open to suggestions!!

    Ta,
    Paul

My sister is the same and she went to her doctors and think he prescribed valium just to make her relax. She hadn't been on a plane for over 5 years and managed it a year ago.

My wife was very nervous. The doc prescribed valium-they worked but relaxed her that much she was reading a book upside down on the flight-a fact that we have never let her forget! Point of story-check that valium are ok if you are driving at the other end

Other recommendation: easy on the Valium 'coz you don't want to look like you're on drugs when you meet the Immigration Officer [msnwink] .

Have you thought about trying hynotherapy or going to an Aerophobia Clinic?

I did Virgin's Flying without Fear course - it was expensive but IMO worth EVERY penny.

Flew in Sept first time after course and was so much calmer and not worried about turbulance!!!

Thanks for all the replies!! Its a bit strange me being nervous as I have always been around aircraft from a young child plus also flying them in my teens but I think it's the 'not being in control' thing!
