dont know about cheapest but id go for a suv, maybe a jeep.
The difference between the cheapest and what would be comfortable is £26 per week.
Don't ruin your holiday for such a small amount. Go to the link for car hire above and choose an Intermediate 4 door and you will all enjoy the holiday.

There are 4 of us, 2 adults and a 14 and 12 year old with four pieces of luggage plus carry on bags. Our kids are probably a bit older than yours but I can't imagine it would be all that comfortable with two pieces of luggage between the seats. We always select a 'full size'. As DaveL said, you'd probably be okay with an intermediatte but definitely don't go for a compact.
