Great places to eat out with the family

    Hello! [clap]

Just stumbled upon this great site! I am travelling to Florida in July with 2 kids and 1 husband. Really want to make the most of my time in Florida and visit some great places to eat. We are staying in a hotel in Disney. Can anyone reccomend the best places to eat in the disney hotels as well as outside of the hotels? So I can get a good mixture. I have heard the Californian grill is good? [drinkpepsi]

Any other advice on making the most out of my trip would be gladly appreciated. [high5]

Welcome! Our situation are pretty similar (except we've rented a villa [msnwink]). I'd recommend reading through all the threads here. I've learned a lot just by browsing through the different sections. Then if you have questions there will always be someone to help, the people here are really a friendly bunch [clap]!

Just had a read over the dining section really great info. Just wondering if there are any places in particular I MUST visit! Would anyone advise booking a table ahead of leaving to go away?

If you want to do any of the character meals or special dining experiences you will need to book these well ahead of your trip especially as you're travelling in school holidays.

It might be useful to know the ages and gender of your children for ideas?

Lots of the restaurants do phone ahead, but not actual bookings.
Places like Bahama Breeze, Many's Chophouse, Outback, Carrabas, Olive Garden get very busy and do a phone ahead service. Buffet restaurants, Sizzlers, Golden Coral although busy just walk in.

    Hope this helps

My kids love Macaroni Grill - all because they provide crayons and a paper table cloth so they can write al over it. My daughter was horrified the first time we went in - but they soon got the hang of it.

Th food is pretty good as well

    Hi.

We travelled last year with a girl aged 9 and 2 boys 7 & 5. The best places we went to for the kids were:

Longhorns Steakhouse - Really took time out for our kids. Let them sit at the bar while we waited and made a fuss during our meal.

Market Street Cafe - Made us feel really welcome as a big party (8 of us). Took time out for the kids

Olive Garden - As above and gave them colouring sheets and crayons.

Places to avoid with kids (possibly)

Tony Romas - Full of couples and not a family atmosphere. No real communication with the kids.

Charleys - Definitely an upmarket place and price! We went there on our own one night and loved it. Kids would be welcome i'm sure but for us, it was more of a couples/treat night.

    Hope some of this helps.
