Caroline here in MA that would be called a light frost..
We are having the first real day about freezing for about 8 weeks...our garden is an ice rink..

I've been here 9 years and we have never had such a long cold spell..lets hope the Groundhog has some good news...

We found that out later Shirley, I did checkbefore i paid as I expected it should be with no public transport but there was no mention of it on the website at the time. Hopefully it should just be paid back to my card.

Just found out our high school is closed today, and we didn't even get that much snow overnight, roads are all passable. I am slightly annoyed. They have done this as they would need supervision around the school as some wisecracks would be throwing snowballs etc and possibly sliding on some ice patches. although my eldest just told me they had to lay on extra policeman last year when they closed it to keep order in the local village from the kids that were off school.

They thought a lot of people were off yesterday, I recken more will be off again today, with parents having to stay home with kids.

we had terrible trouble getting up a certain road in Brighton (daughter had problem with kids) desperately needed our help... luckily Steve was home as i wouldnt have been able to do it.... the top of the road very steep hill, we had mega mega trouble, we were buring rubber trying to get a grip.... didnt help when half a dozen kids, mostly boys were chucking snowballs at our car.... it was nothing personal they were doing it at most cars trying to get up the hill...... i dont mind them having fun.... but it was so dangerous as our car couldve swung back on them...... cars and ice are trecherous!!!!

Liesa I hear Brighton has it much worse than us.

Rachel is home from Brighton Uni for the week but all her friends are ringing saying they are having great fun. Uni closed yesterday so they all spent the day sledging. I don't think Brighton Uni has any ironing boards left now as that is what they were using.
