    8 Seater Minivans

Anyone hired an 8 seater minivan recently? Unfortunately budget don't have an 8 seat SUV available for my dates. Wondered if the minivans are OK? What models are available from Dollar/Alamo?

We always go for Alamo when we need an 8 seater as the have the Toyota Sienna, nice car good mpg plenty of room for a family, would not try and get 8 adults and luggage to fit though.
With Alamo you can take your pick from the line of 8 seaters, mind you they are all Sienna's

Thanks Eric, we've got 5 adults & 3 kids. Is there much room at all behind the rear seats for luggage? Also, what's the best thing to do for child seats - Hire them or buy cheap ones from a supermarket?

There is some room but not for 8 suitcases, probably 4 at most, car seats, our 2 youngest grandchildren are coming over in april with us, we bought some excellent chairs in Walmart for them for $39, the car hire companies charge around $5 plus tax per night (or used to when we last hired, perhaps you could check on the car hire companies site for up to date rates?)
