convince me to try Budget again......

18 months ago we got a fly drive through Charter Travel - they used Budget as the car rental co. Although the car itself was fine, the problems we had on collection and return were a nightmare. Apparently Charter Travel hadn't sent the right details to Budget and inspite of showing them our confirmation etc they said our contract was wrong!! took FOREVER to sort out with both companies.

Am due to book my car hire again for May trip - Budget is coming out the chepest - but I am a little dubious of whether to risk all the hassle again.

Can anyone confirm they have booked through THIS site and had a good experiance with Budget?

I have used Budget through this site (UScarhire ) on quite a few occasions and had no problems at all. Must say it is the customer service you get on here that really makes it worth while as John/Roger sort any queries out very quickly should they ever arise. You will get your voucher sent to you direct a few weeks before you travel and you can check it all out before you go and anything you are not happy about just get in touch with them.

We have used Budget for our last 2 trips through this site and have been really pleased. We do the on line book in and then can go directly to the kiosk when we arrive.

I used Budget at MCO on 3rd January. Customer service was excellent. I had booked the smallest cheapest car. It was only me for a week before the others arrived. I was not asked if I wanted any extras, any upgrades or anything UNTIL it came to what car I had when he said they did not have any in stock. I was then expecting the hard sell but instead was asked how I felt about driving a hybred car. I asked how much it would cost me and was told nothing so I spent the week driving around in a Toyota Prius which comes under their specialist section. So, I really could not fault them as I went from base car to specialist car with no hard sell whatsoever.

Of course booking through the link above always helps as the rates are excellent and customer service if you do have a problem is top notch.

Just booked Budget for our October trip, much cheaper than alamo who we normally use so will be interesting.

well one of the problems we had was that we pre-registered on the Budget Website - went straight the the car park and they had no record of our booking - had to go back to the main terminal and then there was all sorts of issues sorting it out!!!

I might bite the bullet and try them again - if all goes OK I can put the first problem down to one of those things!

I'm not going to try and convince you to book Budget (as that is your choice at the end of the day [msnwink]) but what I will say is we have many, many Budget customers every week who have absolutely no problems at all and get a great deal on car hire.

If we even had a hint that there were underlying problems with Budget, we would remove them from our car hire site immediately as we do not want to associate ourselves with bad service in any way. They are still on the site and will remain so.
