    UK Wii experts

    Question......
Will UK Wii games work on US Wii consoles?
I'm in London next month and want to take advantage of the better exchange rate (on my end) and buy some stuff!
Also looking forward to seeing Chelsea at The Bridge!
    Thanks........

As far as I know, no, not unless the console has been modified.

Wii's are region coded so US games will not work on a UK Wii and UK games will not work on a US Wii.

That's a pit because at the current exchange rate they would probably work out at about 99p each.[msneek][msneek]

Of course I'm pretty sure it would be possible to hack a wii in the same way DVD players and other consoles can be to get around region coding but as that would lead to a copyright breach you wouldn't want to get into that... would you.

I think you can buy converters on ebay.

I think you might need to be careful with some of the converters, especially if they are software type ones. I think that system updates may make them obsolete. I am not 100%, but I think this is what I found last time I looked into it.

You could have the Wii "chipped" just as you can do a PS2. Costs about £30 in Manchester so should be a similar price elsewhere. You can then play any Wii game.

The remotes etc are not region free and will work on any system.
