Hello,

I've been reading on this forum and just needed to say many thanks for such a gold mine of informations. We're a French family planning our June vacations in Florida and I found so many useful informations on this forum that I just wanted to let you know how grateful I am.Plus I might have a coupe of questions myself!

I've already rented our villa so now it's just a matter of planning our stay. As many say: planning is half the fun!

I've been to Florida several times when I was a student in the States (UMKC: "Go 'Roos"!!) and again with my husband for our honeymoon US road trip in 1994 but this is our first trip there as a family.

Of course I feel a little bit anxious once in a while (first time renting a villa on the net, and you DO hear stories) but then again what could be worse than spending ten days in the same hotel room with a 10 y.o girl and a 13 y.o boy always trying to kill each other?[msnwink] I think I made the right decision, and with the Pound being almost even with the Euro (sorry guys [:I]it's definitely a very good option).

I've booked our tickets with Virgin from Gatwick. I intend to book our car through here too, as everybody seems very happy with the service, and the prices are very good too. I just hope you cater to french citizens.

I will certainly get back to you as our trip gets closer. Florida has probably changed a lot since last time I was there. But be aware that a lot of people probably use your help without ever joining your friendly bunch.

You have made absolutely the right decision renting a villa, the trouble is it will spoil you having so much space and your own private pool.

Can't help with hotels, but am sure someone will be along soon to help.

We always book our car hire from here, the prices and more importantly to us, the customer service is second to none. You will have no problems being a French citizen at all.

Thanks for your warm welcome. We ARE very excited about this trip, and chosing the villa was a great moment. Now that we have the tickets (just got them confirmed yesterday) it's very real.
You should see us: we look at each others and suddenly burst "we're going to Florida!" out loud, making people wonder about our mental health . I'm not even sure we'll reach this level of excitement when we're there . My daughter Elise (10) tells everybody who cares to listen about the wondeful villa "she" chose and the great pool and spa and "her" bedroom. Not a word about the parks anymore. Maybe we shouldn't bother after all
