Virgin rotate the Manchester aircraft with the Gatwick ones and so what goes out from Manchester often comes back as an aircraft that left Gatwick the previous day and vice-versa.

You'll only really know what aircraft it is when you get to the airport the morning you fly I'm afraid.

Do you mean the actual 'name' of the particular plane? (Virgin give every aircraft their own name like 'Lady in Red').

I'm wondering if you mean what aircraft they use from Manchester. If so, as far as I'm aware, they always use a Boeing 747 (often referred to as a 'Jumbo') on that route.
