oh Wow Barabara that is great, well done
Mine is currently 29.2 so classed as overweight but I put on 5.5lbs during our Florida trip - despite my best efforts:-( and only 2 off so far. Was having a good week but went out for supper last night at late notice to support YD's charity where she works, set curry supper. Tasty but I think I can safely say there apart from some salad with the starter nothing qualified as in SW food plan! Crumbs just worked out I need to lose another 15lbs to get into the normal category. Onwards and downwards ...
I wish I only had 15lbs to lose to be in the normal category. We all have bad days or weeks from time to time . The secret is to forget about it and carry one..
I cannot count how many times I have walked past the pork pies in the supermarket. Looked longingly at the them.( one of my many weaknesses) I have sometimes actually place them in my shopping trolley but thankfully I have never bought them. I have to give myself a good talking too , then I go and put them back on the shelf.[msnsmile]
Still downwards, but a wee half pound, so certainly the Indian had its effect! Am keeping a diary again this week as it seems to force me to keep more or less on the straight and narrow. Now if I can just stop a "I must have chocolate moment" I will be ok. Why is it the weather drops dramatically and I have the I "must eats" ... !
Well done Fiona, every bit of a pound counts, I also had a 'I must have chocolate' last night, but 8 WW points for a mars bar wasn't worth italthough I do have lots of extra weekly points that I never use.
Well I've just checked mine and I am 42.5 [:0] I wish I could get motivated to start again a few years ago I managed to
get down to 36 which equates to 3 stone less than I am now but even though I feel dreadful with my aches and pains
etc and look dreadful I can't stop eating the wrong things. I wonder if it will take a serious health scare to shock me
into to doing something. Anyone got any motivation tips?

Pamela sorry to doubt you but are you sure your BMI is 42.5? I wouldnt have thought you were anywhere near that high.
I know I haven't seen you for a couple of years even so I never saw you as obese.
Getting notivated is hard,I have tried so many time in the past If you are not in the right mind set its hard to focus. I thought you had a wedding coming up soon were you will seeing your exhusband, that should help notivate you!!.
When I have a chocolate moment I have a chocolate option only 40 calories . Not the same but does help. to stop the craving.
I have struggled with my weight for the past 25 years, ever since I first started dieting! For years the only diet that ever worked for me was Slimming world but if I lost 4 stones I gained 4.5 and if I Lost 3.5 stones I would gain 4 and so the weight went on.
in recent years I have only managed to stick to the diet for a couple of weeks and then given up.
well, for the first time in possibly 10 years I have started a diet that I have been able to stick to. I started the 5:2 diet 5 weeks ago and have lost 12lbs so far. It 's early days yet but it really doesn't feel like a diet, sure, the 500 calorie days are hard but it's no different to starving for the dentist or for an operation and next day you can eat exactly what you like as you never do your two fast days together. This week I had an went out for dinner, I had 2 G&T's half a bottle of wine a starter a main and a dessert plus I had an argument with abox of Thorntons chocolates two days earlier and I still lost 3llbs........it's amazing!
The proven health benefits are what swayed it for me especially the bit about removing the fat stores around the heart and reducing the risks of colon cancer, Alzheimer's and prostate cancer ( hubby's doing it as well!)
im not saying its right for everyone and if something else is working why change the formula, but if like me you can't stick to a diet for very long or can't give up naughty things it may just work for you.
The book by Dr Michael Mosley is called The Fasting Diet.......this is the book on which the original Horizon programme was based, I have yet to read it but I have read the 5:2 diet by Kate Harrison, she recommends the use of the app My Fitness Pal which I wouldn't be without and I would recommend reading her book about finding ways the diet would work best for you.
I agree with Liz, you do need to be in the right frame of mind and want to lose weight for you.
I have also tried to diet for most of my adult life, managed to lose lots for my 30th but put it all back on plus more, my 50th is next year and my daughter is getting married now in Oct, (she brought it forward one month so more pressure) I have tried Slimmers World lots of times which starts off well but then I go back to my old ways, I am trying Weight Watchers this time using their online tracker to calculate every thing I eat, or thinking of eating and it has really helped, I can either use their foods which already have the points on them when I need to have a quick snack or meal, or plan what I want to cook by making a few changes to have less points.
Good luck with changing your eating habits, try thinking about what you are putting in your mouth and enjoy every mouthful![]()
