I'm new around here, but this thread has struck a chord with me since I'm also in weight loss mode. One thing I've found that helps is having a target other than a number. Let me try to explain what I mean. In June, my family is going on a cruise with my brother's family. My brother has told me on many occasions how spectacular zip lining is and that he would like for me to join him on such an excursion. In most cases, zip lines have a weight limit of 250 lbs. I want to go zip lining with my brother, so my target weight is 250 lbs. I'm not looking at the number, though, I'm looking at the opportunity to zip line. If I don't make the weight, I miss out on the experience. The opposite of that is if I do make the weight, I won't just be happy that I'm below 250, I'll be happy that I can zip line with my brother. That makes it more than just a number and really helps with motivation.
