Well done everybody ! I think I am just a hopeless case

I have been going to "Gastric Band" Hypnotherapy. Although this is helping in some ways ie by making me
think about why I can't lose weight it really isn't helping the weight loss. On Wednesday I will be having the
"operation" I will let you all Know how it goes. I think if this doesn't work I may have to think about the
actual Gastric Band route. It scares me but like you Liesa I am in so much pain and live on Tramadol etc.

Pam,you know you can do it. Look how well you did a few years back. You just have to have the mindset which is very difficult I know. Think very carefully before having major surgery. I know quite a few ladies who have had gastric bands and other things, and none of them have been delighted with it after the initial honeymoon period has worn off. Unfortunately for people like us, we yo yo with our weight and it is life. Surgery is very serious and there seem to be many women opting for this without seriously being committed to losing weight.

Sorry to sound so stern but I know there are things you can do to help you lose weight, which may take away some of the pleasures you enjoy, but that is a small price to pay if you get healthy again. Chin up and hope your 'operation' goes well this week and makes you face upto the truth behind your lack of weight loss.

Thanks Sandra I'm pretty certain I wouldn't have the courage to have the op anyway. I can do it but as you know life is
difficult for us and it seems I reach for chocolate and alcohol as comfort.
