    shuttle landing

Just wondered if anyone can tell us whether it is worth going through to kennedy for a shuttle landing or not? Managed to catch a launch a few years ago on a trip but this time none are scheduled, but the shuttle up currently will land whilst we are there. Is there much to see? if it is worth it, is this a good day to visit the space centre or more just find a viewing area along the coast.

Not as good as watching a launch but we had a good view last year.

Personally I don't think I'd make a special effort as its over so quickly and not as dramatic as a launch - we combined it with a day at Melbourne beach. We found it useful to keep updated using the NASA website and watching the local TV channels to know the direction it is approaching - you see it for a very short time. I also saw it on approach in California over 20 years ago when it couldn't land it Florida. The sonic booms and the gliding sound are memorable (reminded us of the noise Concorde used to make just off the coast of Cornwall years ago).
