    Cancelled next Nov holiday :(

Sadly we have just had to cancel next years holiday, hubby has lost his job but very lucky has had another nearly straight away but its a lot less money. The new job is far more secure than the current one and is what he wants, so we have had to cancel our Florida trip and other things will have to go too.
We treated him to a Kawasaki Ninja this year for his 40th and that going too, all luxurys will have to go. (he is devastated) but having a roof over your head is far more important.

Even after me having a major moan to Virgin and they came up trumps in the end i now have to cancel the flydrive[msnscared] i know some people in far worse positions than us, so i am not too upset these things will come again and i believe in positive thinking it can only get better!

So sorry to hear you had to cancel your holiday and make a lot of changes. The important thing is he has a job he will enjoy and you are all helping each other.

Put those pennies away and they soon build up. One day you will have the holiday of a lifetime and it will be worth the wait.

Keep in touch on the forum and making that list of things you would like to do.

That's bad news but good that he's found a job so quickly in the current climate, and as you say some people are a lot worse off - my daughter and husband lost her home early on in the current financial situation - lost all their equity and are now right back to were they were before they started, in fact with other debts are worse off than ever. But they both are still healthy so that's one thing.

Hopefully you won't be too long before you get out to Florida again.

    Hi,
Thankyou all, My husband starts his new job first week of Jan 09 so we are lucky he will go from one job to the next, we are both excited as this is the job he has wanted for 10 years so even though we have had to cancel and sell some things we know its for the better in the very long run.
For the past 10 years we have had sometimes 2 holidays per year and buy what we want when we need it, so we have been very lucky and now we will have to just cut right back. Our home has safe and that the main thing.
Telling the kids was quite easy really and i am so proud off them both for supporting the whole situation.

I will keep my fix by looking in to see how you all are from time to time...Merry Christmas to you all [xmas2] [xmas1]
