We have had opposites when we have been for New Year, last year we were still in Tshirts midnight, one year we came home early from Epcot after the first fireworks at 9 as it was raining so much it was over our ankles and another it was freezing so we ended up wearing the socks from Virgin for gloves (as did many other people) because they werent available to buy anywhere (they do now), so as we tell our Guests we can't guarantee or alter the weather any time of year but we can almost guarantee the atmosphere will be great wherever you choose to go.

IF spending New Years Eve at Epcot... do you need to arrive really early? and NOT leave all day? Just wondering I have read so much about the awful crowds.. have became a little scared of all the horrible stories of the crowds at Disney this time of year... Christmas to New Years...

we spent last New Years Eve in Hollywood Studios (MGM). We had spent the day in Discovery Cove so we didn't go in until about 8pm. It was busy but not ridiculously so. We manage to get on a few rides, saw Fantasmic and finally watched the fireworks at midnight. It was a nice atmosphere and not too chaotic.
On, the nigth, before, which was the 30th, we went to the Magic Kingdom where they has a practice run for the New Years Eve celebrations including all the fireworks and the countdown. I would highly recommend this as after the earlier fireworks at about 9 the park really emptied out. This was our favourite night of the whole hoiday.

We are already booked to go to D'Antonio's at Celebration for dinner on New Year' Eve then will join in the fun there before going home to have a Hogmanay Party. We made our booking when we were out in April/May as they close early and only do two sittings.
