I paid with Tesco clubcard vouchers for my last trip with Virgin holidays. Had 5 nights in Orlando and 9 nights @ St Petes beach we paid the majoirty of the cost with the vouchers and only had to bung in £300 in cash(for 2 adults). Not bad for 2 weeks in Florida! Am busy saving them again for 2010.

I always work on the basis that Flights,Accomodation,Car and park tickets work out at around £1000 each-varies by season but that is my ball park figure for what it is worth.

My wife, me and my 3 children are off to Florida in 3 and a half weeks time and I'm staying in Quality Inn Plaza on International drive and we paid £3900 for the flights plus Motel and £363 for the car for the whole 18 days. Hope this helps.

The way we keep costs down is by eating lots of meals at the villa we are staying at. Now don't get me wrong, I don't spend my holiday cooking and we eat out lots of days. Most supermarkets do fabulous salads and prepared fruit, steaks and fish to throw on the BBQ. Wal Mart even have fully prepared, hot roast chickens! If we go out for the day we often take a packed lunch and lots of bottles of drink. We all have a small backpack so it is not too heavy. With a family of 5 a round of soft drinks can be $10 or more a time. That way we have more money to spend on accommodation and entertainment

We do much the same Shirley. We're only a few minutes walk from Berry Town Centre and it's dead handy.

Publix is ideal for picking up cooked chickens, salads, ham, cheese, and everything else you can think of bunging on a plate.

The Chinese take-away there is excellent, and the meals are huge. We found on the last trip that two meals feeds four people.

There's a pizza shop there too, although if you ask me there's nothing better than having Dominos deliver pizza for those pizza and beer nights, either out on the pool deck or in with a movie.

Randy - if you are looking at costs why not spend more days at the villa and fewer at the theme parks?

We went for my 40th in August just gone. I would have liked to have been there for my birthday but by going a few days later it saved £1000 on flights for us (4 adult fares and 1 child). We ate out mostly but cheaply. If you look on here there are threads about where to eat and costs. We ate at a buffet place for breakfast, ate loads which kept us going til dinner apart from an ice cream. We took bottles of water and topped up at the water fountains. The kids were happy with this too. Have a great time
