    flyglobespan baggage

We are flying globespan from glasgow in a couple of weeks. i notice their website states that our 25kg luggage allowance is for hold and hand luggage (combined). Has anyone flown globespan recently & can you tell me if they do weight your hold and hand luggage together? My hubby will have laptop, sat nav etc in his hand luggage which weighs a fair amount so really need to know if it is likely to be weighed combined.

I'm not suggesting you do this but it's not uncommon for people to overcome this problem by not taking all their carry-on to the check-in. I've seen people do that on more than 1 occasion and I'm guessing that I'm only seeing the ones who aren't very good at the deception so they may be many more!

I'm not aware of any effective system to weigh carry-on between check-in and boarding or for flight crew to know the weight of your hold bags but I don't fly Globespan so can't be definitive. Perhaps people more familiar with them can give a fuller answer.

I realise that you won't be able to do it with a laptop, but a big jacket with deep pockets always helps.[msnwink]

    Hi

With globespan you can pay £15 for an extra 10 kilos per sector and you can just do it for the return trip, up to 50 kilos per person.

It would be worth paying for the extra so you have no worries at checkin.

thanks for tips. was thinking about booking extra baggage just for return journey but wasn't sure if that makes you more likely to get hassle from customs?

Customs is only a problem if your are over you $$$ limit, weight has no interest to them.

I have seen people carry on small flight suitcases before and these seemed ok. God knows how much weight one of them can fit in.
