    Alamo - too cheep?

    Hi..

We are just about to book our car fro next Feb and we are looking at getting a premium SUV. Alamo is a lot cheaper than the other 2, is there a downside with this?

the last few years we have booked through budget (8 seater suv) and Dollar a few times, just a bit worried the car will come up short, but also like the idea of picking out my own?

We have also selected the same model for February! will there be enough of them? seriously will be interested to hear anyone who has rented and what models were avsilable.
We booked as you say due to there being a lot of difference in the rate for Alamo.

This is just because we have kept the Alamo prices lower for now, but they will increase more by the end of the year. This does not reflect on the quality of cars or service.

    Roger,
How much are they looking to go up by? I am not going til November 2009 and if they are going up should i book as early as it is? Also, are they spacious enough for 2 adults 1 child and 1 infant with all the gubbins that you have to take around for them and do the 3rd row of seats flatten easy enough?

Does anyone know if taking your own car seat is included in the baggage allowance on Continental or does it not count?

Normally you can take it as an extra item Andrena. We used to take some big plastic bin bags and wrapped it up when we got to the airport with a lable on it, then we took it to the over sized items after checking in. But you could always call Continental to confirm for you own piece if mind.

I can answer that Our current guests flew Continental from Dublin and they did not have any hassle at check-in with the child seat - no it did not count in the baggage allowance.
