Booked today for christmas, THIS Christmas!

I cant believe we have done this, but we have had awful time lately and and so today on a whim.............. we booked to go to Florida on 20 December for 2 weeks! Me, my hubby, our two daughters, aged 18 and 12!

What have we let ourselves in for! We have been twice before, but always in October. We just wanted to see all the christmas lights and the theme parks all christmassy!

Anyone got any tips!!! We are staying in a Villa, not far from Disney - we usually are so organised when we go to Florida, we also booked disney and orlando flex ticket, along with car hire - anyone got any suggestions for anything else!

    Appreciate any ideas!

    Thanks

You have to see the Osborne Family Christmas lights at Hollywood Studios. They are spectacular and never fail to bring a lump to my throat. Also, you could try Celebration for "Snowing Nightly" - in Market Street in the centre of the town. It's a lovely night out! There is so much to do. You could have a look round Gaylord Palms, free to look, but stunningly beautiful. I am sure you will get plenty of great advice from here. Another thing we do is try to see some of the small towns just outside Orlando, they really go for Christmas in a big way and it always reminds me of old American Christmas films - oh you have got me going again, getting all excited for our trip - we will also be there for Christmas. We have been so lucky to be able to go for three weeks at a time since 2001. I know you will have a fantastic time. Just get there and enjoy every minute. You and your family are in for a treat!!! I am excited for you all!!!

Celebration was brilliant last year at New Year with free entertainment and fantastic fireworks. We'll be there for christmas as well but will be home for the New Year.

It's going to be even more fun for you as it was an unexpected treat and sounds like the family needs it so have a wonderful time.

Thank you all so much for your replies - my tummy has been doing somersaults since we booked it. We LOVE Christmas and am so looking forward to seeing Christmas American Style - all the lights.......

We do need this holiday as last christmas I was having chemotherapy for breast cancer, so I just want to have FUN with my family, whom have been through such a lot.

So if you see a woman with the biggest grin and tears in her eyes, that'll be me!

As said in previous posts - the Osbourne Family Lights are amazing and Celebration is wonderful. When we went Walmart had girls outside shaking slighbells and the store smelt of nutmeg and cinamon!

    Have fun, Diane.
