Delay in picking up car

I'm flying standby to Orlando this weekend, however the flights are all quite busy and may not get a seat on the day I planned to travel, if I arrive a day later than originally planned how will this effect my pre-booked car hire? Will Dollar cancel a booking if the car is not picked up on the first day?

They're usually OK up to around 24 hours late, but we always recommend you call them and tell them when you now plan to collect.

Thye are probably used to it,apparently todays VS05 isnt getting in till 2am so they will have a whole plane load picking up cars late. When it was delayed overnight a few weeks ago my friend didnt have any trouble when she picked her car up the next day.

I have just experienced this myself. I was due to pick up a car in Tampa around midnight last Monday. Due to delayed flight Bristol/Newark (a story in itself) I didn't pick up the car until 5 pm (local time) on Tuesday and there was no problem. This was with Budget through OV.
