Should add, I work in a primary school. As children get older the problem becomes worse. Two years ago I asked for 1 day at my kid's high school, their holidays differed slightly to mine (bear in mind their attendance has usually been 99 to 100%) I was refused, I still went. They can't hang you for it.........yet! But my point is, try not to blame the schools or your friends, it's just the way it is.

As mentioned in an earlier post - avoid the Theme Parks. We went a few years ago, thinking that all the Americans would be at home with their families - wrong! MK was heaving!

One place that the kids & adults may enjoy is Blue Springs State Park. Mannattees (dozens, if not more) come up into the spring run to escape the colder waters of the main (St John) river. It is magnificent to see them wallowing and snorting in the clear waters & on a mid-week day the park should not be too busy, especially if you get there early - before 10am. There are plenty of picnic facilities & a narrated boat trip is available.

Or you could just make it a chill-out day at the villa! Everybody needs one to re-charge their batteries.
