you misunderstand what I was doing, trying to save the first few pages for future use, and in order to link to the topic you need to have more than one poster for your topic

Lost me a bit too.

I don't really understand the value of others knowing who is going on holiday and when, but if people want to tell the internet community that they will be away from their home for a few weeks, that's up to them. In a lot of cases, it really isn't that difficult for a criminal to work out who is who because owners have links to individual adverts.

Personally, I see it as similar to putting my home address on the outside of my luggage - not a good idea.

Think it's just a waste of internet space, the countdown at the top of my home page is enough for me.
