    Praying Mantis

    Hi Everyone,

    Just had to take photos of this regal looking bug.

    I know some of you will be greatfull he is on the outside of the pool screen, but you have to admire the the beauty of the thing.

    Fantastic photographs, how big was it? I couldn't go anywhere near it, but you are right, it does look amazing!!

    Head to tail was about 4-5 inch long.

    They look like green beans with legs on .We take photos of butterflys as we have a hibicus edge along the one side of our florida room and the colours are lovely and we get humming birds ,Will try and take them next time we are in the villa .

    We had one on our palm tree after hurricane Jeannie. An American friend told us not to touch it, as we could face a fine of $50.000 if caught!!
    Like, I would want to touch one of them

    Did you mean a Mantis in your tree?

    Are they really protected, it is just an insect after all, a cool looking one, but still an insect?
