fuel charges by alamo

hi newbie here,going to orlando on monday 13th oct 4 3 weeks,got hire car for the my time there,after reading some posts in here today about the charges alamo make on the fuel when you pickup/drop off your car ,i went to my local travel agents where i booked my car from and asked them to confirm if i have to pay for fuel on pickup or drop off also can i drop off full ,they contacted alamo int and was told that i could drop of full otherwise they will charge me double the pump prices,so here's hoping that the info is correct,also while i'm here a quicky about the premium car's if there are no buick lucern's what other car's are on this package,it say's "or sim" on the web page,but no example hope sum 1 or the helpfull roger the dodger can help lol [msnsmile2]

We booked with Alamo on line and got a full tank at $3.30 a gallon six weeks ago...thought it was a good price then and it was still a good price when we picked up last week...Fl gas prices seem high to where I live...most of the time its the other way around...

Compared to the others, Alamo generally charge a very fair rate for the tank of fuel. Dollar and Thrifty are high (often over double the pump price).

More often than not, Dollar and Thrifty agree for you to return full on the Silver option whereas Alamo are strict about their return empty policy on Silver.

It's always tricky. Over the phone they might say one thing and in reality do something else. The bottom line is that the voucher will tell you the actual policy, and the person on the desk may or may not stick to the policy.

I don know people that have returned full with Alamo and not been charged for the tank of fuel. I also know of people that have returned full and still been charged for the full tank, and Alamo would not agree to the refund as the terms say that you must return empty and no refunds for any fuel left in the tank.

I take it if you have booked the gold option [that includes a tank of fuel] then when you return the car empty then there is no charge for fuel

we've booked for the first time with Alamo thro' us car hire on the gold option too,
Always did for Dollar so I assume that too, Angela HOpe its correct[msneek]
