    Imminent Price Increases

Prices with all suppliers will be going up very shortly, some more than others. We don't usually get pre-warning but we know some are going up very soon (next week).

Dollar and Thrifty will go up early next week for collections from 1st October onwards, and will have the biggest increase, particularly on the Gold option.

Alamo are having a slight increase, not sure of exact date, and again the Gold option is the main difference.

Budget will also be increasing shortly after but we do not know time scales or amounts.

We do not know the new prices as yet nor exact dates, so please do not email asking for any more specific information.

We think after all the increases, that Dollar will be the most expensive, followed by Alamo then Budget and Thrifty.

The contract with Thrifty and Dollar has been extended to the end of March 2010 and Alamo will follow shortly. Budget are still to the end of 2009 at present.

Dollar and Alamo are trying to re-position themselves as the premier supplier with the best cars and best customer service, and by increasing their prices they realise they may be one of the most expensive options but they hope to retain the same level of business. I guess much like renting a villa - the premier villas are more expensive because to maintain high standards the owners need to invest more money in to their properties.

If you plan to book a car with Dollar or Thrifty then we strongly suggest you do so before next week before the price increases.

We're not going until September 2009 but if we book with you now we guarantee the price at today's prices?

Was just about to ask the same question in a round-about way. Existing bookings to remain unaffected???

I am pretty sure the answer to this is yes, once booked the price stays the same.

Any bookings placed are (as always) locked in at the current price, so existing bookings are not affected.

I would like to book for a number of upcoming trips. In some cases I'm not certain just where I want to collect/drop off although it will all be within Florida. If I have to amend the location(s) at a later date, will I then have to pay the higher rates?

If just the locations change then the price will be as booked. If you change the car type or length of rental the the price will change to the current rate as the car is effectively rebooked.

Roger i have just got a quote for our next trip with Alamo and it states i need to pay a Airport Customer Facility Charge of $2.50 per day for collections at MCO (max $12.50). What is this charge as we have never paid for this before?
