Peter invited his Mum to dinner to meet his new flatmate Jo.

They had a lovely evening and Peter’s Mum thought Jo was a lovely girl, watching the chemistry between them she suspected that Jo and Peter were already more than just friends.
At the end of the night after helping to clear up in the kitchen she asked Peter if he and Jo were partners and told him that she thought they were very well suited. Peter told his Mum that they were definitely “just good friends”

A few days later Jo was in the kitchen when Peter came home and asked him if he had seen the frying pan. He replied he had not.
“Do you think your mother could have taken it?” she asked “Only I haven’t seen it since she was here for dinner”
Peter said that he doubted it very much, but that he would e mail her.

Hi Mum
It was lovely to spend the evening with you last week and thanks for helping to clear up.
I was wondering if you took our frying pan home by mistake?
I’m not saying you have and I’m not saying you haven’t, but we haven’t seen it since you were here.
Speak soon
Love Peter

The next day Peter received his mother’s reply;

Hello Peter
Thank you for a lovely evening, Jo is a lovely girl and I didn’t mind helping to clear up one bit.
Now, I’m not saying you are sleeping with her and I’m not saying you aren’t, but if she was sleeping in her own bed she would have found the frying pan by now![msnwink]
Lots of Love
Mum
