    Family of three

    Hi,

We are a family of three travelling next summer to Florida. Our son will only be six when we go and won't be able to get on some of the rides so we'll have to give the big rides a miss this time.

Has anyone else been with a small child and what's your experience been like? We went with my parents last time and that was ideal but they aren't going back next year.

    Hi Claire,

Our youngest daughter was six when we visited a few weeks ago, she was able to go on all of the rides at the Disney parks, the only one she didn't go on was Rock and Roller Coaster though she was tall enough, just not brave enough for that one.
If you really want to do the rides you can go in line, then tell the staff you are doing child swap and then ride alone, not as much fun but the option is there.
We really find Disney is much more than just rides and just soaking up the atmophere is great. We didn't go to Universal this time so can't pass comment there.

Besides the "normal parks" you could opt for different days out, Cypress Gardens is fantastic for little ones, a few rides, beautiful gardens AND a small water park.
Boggy Creek Airboats are another option as well as green meadows petting farm.

There are many rides in most parks that everyone can enjoy. As Paula says you can always do a child swap that way you only have to queue once. Busch Gardens has a great kids area in addition to the roler coasters its known for.

Dont forget that at 6 years old your Son will be mesmerised by the Disney Characters and it will be a joy to see his face when he meets them[msnsmile] He will be big enough to go on a lot of the rides and you can always look forward to planning another trip when he is big enough to go on all of the rides at all of the great parks that Florida has to offer.[msnwink]

We also found when our children were young they loved to have a photograph taken with their favourite character.
