We got a fairly good price from American Specialists, I think they are manchester based.
I think we will hang on a bit just yet. I spotted on the Travel City forum that a lot of their customers are switching to Virgin also.

Often we fly with Virgin as they are the only airline to fly direct out of Manchester. due to the poor service of late we have switched to a indirect route this time with a US carrier. See how this goes.

I flew with BMI indirect this year and found them great, also saved £900.00 on what it would have cost flying with Virgin

    Hi Kirsty,
We live in the N/East of England & usually fly from either Manchester or occasionally Glasgow but this year we found flights with Continental from Edinburgh, changing in New York(Newark).
I would recommend it, it was so easy as we did immigration in Newark (much smaller queues) so just picked our bags & car up in Orlando International. Coming home bags are checked straight through to Edinburgh and a nice short second flight (6 hours).
Delta also use Edinburgh but through New York (JFK).
Hope this helps, if you have any questions DM me.

I must admit. I do not mind who gets me to Florida. It is purely a means to an end for me.

    I have flown with Virgin, Continental,US Airways,BMI,Travel City,etc, etc.

You can have issues with all of them depending on any particular flights.

I for one was not impressed with my Virgin flights but I would not exclude them if the flights suited my travel.

I just want to get to Florida by the most efficient method with as little pain as possible. I'm not even bothered if they don't fly me back to the UK ......as long as the US Immigration are ok with that![msnwink]

Has anyone on here got views on this carrier as I have heard all sorts of stuff about them ?

I managed to get flights in September for £350 from Manchester via New York to Orlando with Continental and then a direct flight back to Manchester with Virgin

Having never flone with Continental is any one able to say what there like?

I thought that Continental were one of the best I have flown with. Certainly their food was the best. Great service.
