    You can buy them almost anywhere that sells luggage

    Here is what they look like.

    You can get them in the UK from Any Asda stores next to the usual luggage tags and sleep masks etc.

    We use them all the time when travelling to the US. Never had problem yet. Have from time to time found a letter from TSA stating that they have searched our case.

    It's becoming quite common for TSA locks to be already attached to new suitcases. The last 2 I've bought have each had one. Some luggage manufacturers even have their own branded designs.

    Cheers everybody I seem to remember these were just coming into vogue when we last went to the states - we too have had our luggage opened, searched and a nice letter left from the nice guys at the TSA - the results of a post 9/11 world.

    I'm pretty sure though they cut our locks off last time as the type we had weren't removable. I actually didn't mind because the locks cost a few quid to replace and thought well that's a price worth paying if they need to do this type of stuff to keep us safe in the air.
