I have to confess I sent 26 pairs to the charity shop the other day (unopened). I always use them on the flight but hubby and daughter never do and have around 20 pairs in the villa. I notice they only give them to you one way now.

The funniest use we have we have ever seen for them was over Christmas/ New Year 2000/2001 when they had an unexpectedly cold snap and every where you looked there were sheets covering delicate flowers outside the hotels. As it was so unusual for it to be that cold the shops werent prepared and didnt sell gloves and scarves etc so everywhere you looked in the parks when people were waiting for the fireworks they were all wearing the socks on their hands to keep warm. Lovely colourful display it was.
