    Just saying hello

Registered here after stumbling across this site whilst looking for accommodation for a trip next year to celebrate our 50th birthdays. It's current a toss up between a road trip in Europe from UK through France to Italy OR a Disney fix in the USA. (Disneyland Paris is good but only as far as it goes...)

It's been four (five by the time we get there) years since we were last in Orlando so we feel there will be enough 'new stuff' to see now.

All our previous four trips have been on Int. Drive and after a bad experience of landing in the middle of a massive (and a mean massive!!) religious convention we vowed if we ever went back to Orlando it would be a Villa for us. Booking through a UK tour operator obviously means 'allocation on arrival' which is OK up to a point I would rather have more influence over exactly were we stay, which booking direct obviously provides.

So that's why I am here - I will keep lurking and try not to ask to many dumb questions.

Martin - Florida is definitely a good place to go [msnsmile2]

A lot has changed in 5 years - you will not run out of things to see and do

Also if you rent a villa you will have a lovely place to relax by the pool etc.

Renting from an individual owner - at least you know where and what you will be getting

NO question too dumb [msnsmile2] so just ask also there is a lot of information to read on here so get busy [msnsmile2][msnsmile2]

Welcome - and I hope you enjoy the Florida chat .

    Linda

Welcome Martin. I would say Orlando for your 50th would be a great idea, and you are right, there are a lot of new things to see and do.

Me and hubby often go just the two of us and stay in our villa. It is much more relaxing than the days of hotels and having to share the pool and having to eat out every day (although there are so many good restaurants it is hard to eat in).

Choose Orlando and leave France for another year, I am certain you would not regret it.

    Hi Martin,

Welcome to the forum. You've certainly come to the right place to ask any questions about Florida although we may not be too clued up on France and Italy other than to say they are across the lake from the Epcot globe!

If you've not been to Orlando for 5 years there will be plenty of new attractions to keep you busy and a villa holiday bears no resemblance to a holiday on International Drive, much more relax, laid back and luxurious.[8D]

Lets see two weeks living out of suitcases with hopefully decent hotels each time you stop, and the stress of driving and navigating or 2 weeks in a villa in Florida with all the new attractions opening regularly and when you dont want to go anywhere just laze by the pool (with no towels reserving the loungers), glass of wine/beer (delete as appropriate) in hand and when hungry just go to the fridge or the phone to order in or to a loval restaurant.

I know which I'd go for anyday. Welcome to the forum and I just know you'll make the right decision.

There is certainly no comparison in my view between a hotel and private villa. You have come to the right place to find out about Florida and what you could do when you stay. There is so much to do you could spend weeks there!

    Welcome to the forum.

Hi Martin, welcome to OV forum

I have been visiting Florida for over 20 years, stayed in many hotels including Disney.
None compare to the freedom, space and luxury of stayong in a villa.
For peace of mind book your dream home for your Florida holiday on either of the sites below

What a great way to celebrate your 50th birthdays. We personally are biased but definitely Disney USA for us over a European road trip. You are wise to take control of your booking and you have come to the right place for help.
