Probably not wrong considering our banking rating was downgraded by S&P last week so we are now on par with Spanish banks and others and our credit rating could also soon be downgraded which will probably mean another drop against the dollar. The only reason I can think of as to why sterling has not fallen against the euro is the debt problems in the euro zone. Hope I am wrong.

Sorry about that, it will be my fault. I'm counting the days (48) until we go to Florida, and the rate is usually rubbish when I go there. Expect it will get better late April!!

    <blockquote id="quote" class="ffs">quote:Arrived today.

$1.721 seems a really good rate now.

    All set.[/quote]

You will need the extra money to buy overcoats, gloves etc

No, apparently the trick is to sit there all snuggled up with your blankets in the baltic weather and tell yourself it's actually great, life doesn't get any better, etc.

Does it work with the exchange rate?[msnwink]

The post office have been trying to sell us their 0% commision credit card(0% for purchases abroad) and the lady said we would get a better exchange rate using a credit card rather then taking a lot of dollare with us.
Does anyone know if there's any truth to this?

Post Office and Nationwide credit cards (also Nationwide debit cards) get you a far better exchange rate than cash or travellers cheques.
