What's Going on with the Dollar rate???

I know this thread hasn't been used for a while, but as we are going to Florida in 42 days I would appreciate some opinions on what's happening with the rate and has any one seen any good deals? I noticed in Sainsbury's tonight it was $1.38 :-(

I always use the Martin Lewis link and that's coming out at 1.40 so sainsbury is in the ballpark

It does make you chuckle a little when you re-read Post 1 of this thread moaning that it had fallen as low as $1.91!!!!

I must admit Phil I thought the same too. Predictions please on what happens next, you usually have a fairly good insight into these things.

I'm flattered but I'm afraid that I'm about as clueless as everybody else on this stuff. I certainly didn't see this sharp fall coming and have been caught out like the rest of us.

Lol - its always a guessing game, I'm checking every day at the moment but it seems to be holding at 1.38 unfortunately.

Fairfx sent me an email yesterday saying they are offering $1.40 to the pound. Apparently Britain didnt need to borrow as much as it thought in December.
