    Extra Magic Hours

    Hello there,

Being a teacher, I can only go to Florida during the half terms. I am considering staying in a Disney hotel purely for the extra magic hours. Has anyone used extra magic hours during the peak times? Is it worth it? Does it cut down some of the wait time? Any help/advice appreciated. P.S. Going in Easter! Thanks. Laura

    Hi Laura,

I am only going on what I have read as I have never stayed in a Disney resort hotel.

Each day one of the Disney parks is open for an extra 3 hours for guests using the disney hotels so I would think that there would still be fairly hefty crowds in the park of the day for those 3 hours. All of the Disney Parks are not open for the extra hours each day.

Personally I would prefer to stay in a private villa with lots of room and a private pool than be cramped in a hotel room just to gain a couple of extra hours at the Disney theme parks. If you stay in a villa from one of the villa sites above you can get to the theme parks early, enjoy your time there and then come home to relax in your own pool when the parks are at their busiest. You will then be fully refreshed and recharged to go back to the parks later in the day when they are less busy to do the things that you didnt do in the morning.

No contest, once you have stayed in a villa there will be no going back to being cramped up in one room in a hotel.

Have a look at the following links for villas:

    Enjoy your holiday.

Hi Laura, I took work in a school and am out here in Florida at the moment, we always stay in a Disney hotel for a few nights before going to a villa, the magic hours are 1 hour in a morning and we have used this depending on what park it is they are different each day, never done the night ones, the parks in a morning are very busy and it probably only gives you a couple of rides before it is open to the public, we like the ease of getting to the parks onDisney transport, when we leave Disney that is us done with Disney parks, we stay at Port Oleans Riverside, hope this helps.

We have planned our time as well so that we don't go to the park that has the extra magic hours (morning or evening). Our theory is that the people who can use the parks for extra magic hours will so we have more chance of them not being at the other parks! Have to wait and see how that goes! 19 days to go[clap][clap][clap]

So far it has proved to be great and as we have been at all the parks by 9am we have not had long waits at all. The longest wait we had was to meet Pooh and Tigger[msnoo]

We do exactly the same as you Paula...Always avoid the dates & parks that have extra magic hours on.
You can get full lists in advance to plan your park days around by just searcing on the web.
