    Orange Tree 2008

    Hi

Im on the verge of booking a villa on the Orange Tree community for 2009.
Ive read the threads on here about the community but these threads are well over a year old. Has anyone any up to date information regarding the development, nearby restaurants, shopping etc.
    Any help much appreciated.
    Thanks

Orange Tree is a lovely community - Tennis and basket ball court and large open area for football and other run around games. 2 well equipped childrens play areas

Most villas are on larger than average plots so you get the feeling of space etc.

The whole development is well maintained

5 mins to Walmart new Town Centre opposite with shops restaurants. Not far from Publix, Wynn Dixie
    pharmacy etc

Lake Louise State Park just up the road towards Clermont - 5 mins drive

    Hi Lee

Hope you've been successful booking a villa in Orange Tree. We also own there and agree with Fourdents. We would also add how quick it is to get to Disney now that the new western entrance has opened - on a good day, we can be at the Animal Kingdom in 10-15 minutes.

We see new shops/restaurants springing up between our twice yearly visits, particularly along Hwy 27 from the 192 heading north to Orange Tree - a Chili's and a KFC were the most recent additions. We also like Applebee's at Berry Town Center, which is south of the 192/27 exit. I believe there are several other restaurants there (?Japanese, Fish & Chips, chinese takeaway) although I've never tried them yet, and a Publix supermarket.

However, we also like to head north from OT towards Clermont. Near the top of Hwy 27 there is another Walmart Supercentre, and a Kohls store. Turn right along Hwy 50 where it is less touristy and you will find a large selection of restaurants such as Ruby Tuesday, Carrabba's, Outback Steakhouse, Perkins, etc. There is also a Super Target store on Hwy 50.

We're off there in a couple of weeks' time so I will post again if there's anything new.

    Hi Lee,

Well as you can probably guess we are yet another owner with a villa on OT[msnwink]

I can only agree with the comments above. Since we got our villa in 2004 the surrounding area with shops and restaurants has grown and grown. At the same time is a very tranquil spot with some great and airy homes.

Good luck and have a fantastic time.

Thank you everyone for all this fantastic info. Ive got a year to wait but want to make it the best possible holiday for my family. Its my wifes 40th whilst we are there so want to do Discovery Cove on that day with a surprise special dinner out in the evening - has anyone any recomendations on somewhere a bit different to go that night where the atmosphere is great and you can obviously take the boys aged 9 and 12.
Once again thank you - this forum is superb!!

    Hi Lee,

What about dinner at the Animal Kingdom lodge, you dont have to be staying there to go and have a meal, and its a great place for the boys. There are 2 restaurants, a formal one and a and a buffet style place called Bomas..... delicious! Only 10 mins drive from Orange tree.

I am sure you will love it on Orange Tree, we do![msnsmile2]

Hi Shirley, sounds great, do you have to book/reserve or just turn up? If you have to book whats the best time to aim for? Also im assuming you just use your hopper ticket for entry later on.

Im really looking forward to staying on Orange Tree Ive heard so many excellent reports.

    Thanks

We took my dad to the Seaworld Makahiki Luaua for his 70th birthday and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it including my 13 and 16 yr olds (then almost 12 and 15). The show is fabulous and there is a great choice of food. You can even volunteer to go on stage and take part in the show - which of course I did! Would highly recommend it for any celebration!
