Advice on Grades in US School System

Can anyone tell me which Grade my son would be in under the US system? He is just finishing Year 4, going into Year 5 here in UK (will be age 10 in September). Trying to get him into a summer camp but don't understand the grade system. Many thanks.

Age 10 to 11 is typically 5th Grade Elementary School followed by age 11-12 6th Grade Middle School.

I think its the same as the UK i.e year 5 = 5th grade.

Not quite, US is a year behind ours in the UK, the US 1st grade is age 6 to 7 whereas in the UK year 1 would be age 5 to 6
