    Taxi's from villas to parks

My brother is flying out to Orlando next week and he's not yet booked accomodation. I'm trying to convince him to get a villa (from here) but he wants a hotel so that he does not have to drive (ie he can use the shuttle bus)

How much typically would a taxi from the villa communities to the west of kissimmee, to Universal or Disney cost?

If he doesn't hire a car it would go a long way to the cost of the taxi's. He a bit of a wheeler and dealer so I suspect we would want to strike up a deal with a taxi driver for a pick up and drop off each day for 10 days!

I don't know about taxi fares as I always have a car but he will need to provide an address for the first night stay at least in the USA at the airport so will have to have somewhere to stay arranged before he leaves the UK

He's definately going to get accomodation organised before he leaves. He's just left it late!

He definately needs accomodation before he leaves, he's taking his 11 year old daughter and our 60 year old mother so sleeping rough on the first night would not be an option!

Paul it would be wise if your brother really wants to stay at a hotel to check on the shuttle buses as they do not always have a very good service. We had to spend a night at a hotel last year as we let guests stay on at our villa. It was a hotel near Disney and they ran a shuttle bus service to the parks however it did not start particularly early and the last bus back was before the parks closed.

As he is travelling with his mother and daughter I would think they would be better off in a villa then they will have much more space.

I agree, but he refuses to drive in the US so will only stay in a villa if its not too expensive using taxi's. I can't see the problem myself, I've always found driving in florida to be much easier than in the UK

A couple of years ago a family using our villa did not want to drive and used a Company called Vacation Home Shuttle Tel: 1888 424 0044. Not sure whether they are still in operation, but might be worth looking for a website. I do remember that the family thought it worked out cheaper than a car. It might, but would rather have the convenience.
