    Walmart Site To Store

Has anyone ever tried using the Walmart Site To Store shipping service. I'm thinking of ordering some stuff before we leave for our next trip in August. The website says goods take 7-10 working days from ordering to reach the store, and the store will then keep the items for up to 21 days for you to collect.

Do any other stores offer a similar service (eg Target)?

    Your comments appreciated.

It works well but you will need a card registered in the USA.

I use site to store all the time and it works really well as you can save a fortune on shipping.

As Martin says though you do need a US registered card to be able to order from Walmart.

Thanks guys. By US-registered card, do you mean a card with a US billing address? I was intending to pay with my debit card from my US bank account, but this is billed to my UK address.

Sandra[/quote]You'll need to change the address your card is registered to for a US one. We use our MC's address (with their permission of course!) as it's handy having the same billing and delivery address.

Just contact your bank and they should be able to arrange this for you so that you can still receive your statements in the UK but have a US billing address for your debit card.

I set up a dual address with Wachoiva so although the statements come to my UK address, a US address is registered on there as well for purchases

With Best Buy, Circuit City and Sears, my UK card worked fine as they check the card when you collect and are not sending it to you. Not tried Wal Mart

I realise that this may not help you Sandra as you wanted to order before you leave for US - but it may help if anyone else has struggled with not having a credit card registered in the US.

I ordered an item to be delivered to the villa we stayed in (with their permission of course)

I didn't have a CC with a US address but got round this by using a Walmart Giftcard. I checked what the total order would be including the shipping and purchased a giftcard at the store to cover it. After using it for my online order I then spent what was left on it in store [msnsmile2]

Thanks Kenny. I might just be able to use your suggestion as we will be there for 3 weeks so I should have time if I purchase the gift card and order as soon as we arrive.

I will still try to order from the UK before we fly out, and will post again if I'm successful.
