    CO76 Newark to Bristol

This flight 6 nights out of 7 this summer has been anything up to three hours late leaving Newark which then has the knock on effect for the departing flight.

Has anyone done this flight of recent weeks and what was the 'excuse' given at Newark?

We came back the 25th March and did have a delay but this was due to the technical malfunction of the the plane. We boarded the plane and then found out the plane was not holding the power when disconnected from the terminal, they did loads of different things and finally had to replace the plane, which was a shame as it was a brand new plane with seatback tv's and ended up with the old plane and bulkhead tv's but then again I usually fall asleep anyway, but they were very informative and very pleasant, and we free drinks for the flight and a apology by email as well.

We flew back on 16th June from Newark and the flight was around an hour late leavig they said it was due to high winds. The annoying thing was that we missed our flight from Bristol to Plymouth and ended up having to get a train.

Over the past 2 months CO76 has departed late 65% of the time. The average delay over the period was 41 minutes, the longest being 2 hours and 42 minutes.

We fly out on the CO77 Bristol/Newark in 10 weeks. Having persuaded the friends with us to use Bristol (so convenient for people in the West Country) I hope the flight is not too delayed as one of them is not very patient when forced to hang around at airports!

Will let you know what happens on the CO76 flights Clare.

This also has alot to do with New York airspace which is very congested; it does not take much for a backlog to occur which in turn affects La Guardia & Newark.

I know the weather can be bad in the Newark area and airspace is crowded but the regularity of the departure from Newark (it left at 12.29 am Sunday morning as an 8.55 pm Saturday departure) makes me wonder how long Bristol will continue to put up with having this service as it must disrupt the airport with a constantly late arrival and late departure on a daily basis.

I don't see this being an overly big problem for Bristol as it is only one flight in a day, compared to easijet flying out numerous times in the day and being delayed,
