Virgin Online check in or Downtown Disney check in

Which do you all think is better when flying home with Virgin?

Check in online and then just drop your bags at the airport or use the Downtown Disney check in?

    Thanks [msnsmile]

I prefer the online checkin - queues at downtown are sometimes over an hour long. It depends on what you want to do on the last day and whether you can hide the luggage in the car if you are out and about.

I prefer Downtown as we always have connecting flights and twice when the Orlando flight was delayed and we would have missed our connection. Once due to the introduction of the liquids ban they had cancelled all flight to Dublin from Gatwick and the guy in Downtown spent 2 hours trying to reroute us through Manchester. He finally suceeded but if we had waited until the airport there would have been no time for that. I found we only waited about 20 mins to get to the counter at Downtown though we went at about 9 am

Downtown Disney Checkin - we have used it the past 3 times and the longest wait we had was 10 mins. We normally get there around 9.30ish.

Its better for us because you get rid of your luggage right there, where as with online checkin you still have to drag it all through the airport to the bag drop after dropping off your car.

We use online checkin flying out to Orlando though[msnsmile2]

We always go to Downtown Disney. Longest we have waited is half hour because the computer went down. The staff did tell us the line gets bigger as the day goes on. Probably as most places check out at ten.
Best thing we ever found out about, no bags just car drop off at the airport.

Online check in for us - we've never waited at all as most of the queue is for check in and you just go to bag drop. Plus it's free!

Have done both and I think it really just depends upon how we are doing on the morning of the flight!!!

Downtown Disney is good for getting things over and done with, speak to a real person and get you out of the house.

On-line is good because you can do it slightly earlier and then roll up and drop the next day, and it's free.

Either way, they are both worth doing rather than checking in at the airport.

I can't understand why anyne waits to check in at the airport these days [msneek] Can you not check in online to get your seat, then drop your bags downtown?

Certainly wouldn't want to check in at the airport.

We have checked in at Downtown Disney before but wondered with online check in if you needed to print anything out as we only take our laptop to use with the wifi and haven't got a printer there.

[/quote]No, you don't. You can get your boarding pass when you go to bag drop at the airport - takes two seconds.
