Flights from Glasgow - via Gatwick

    Hi

Hoping to fly with Virgin from Gatwick next Summer, but live in Glasgow. Can anyone recommend the best airline to fly Glasgow - Gatwick?

You may be better looking at an airline that will sell you a through fare, such as BA who operate Glasgow Gatwick Orlando. That way you are protected if one of the flights is delayed. Otherwise if the delay causes you to miss a flight, you may have to buy a new ticket for the flight you miss.

Shirley has hit the nail on the head. If you get a ticket from the same company they are more likely to look after you should there be bad weather or a technical delay. I missed my BA connection a few years ago back to Germany and as it was their fault I was booked onto the next flight.

BA and Easyjet fly the route direct but I think they're the only carriers that do. Given the short flight, there won't be much difference but BA might feed you and transfer your baggage to the Virgin flight which Easyjet definitely won't do.

Have you thought about flying direct to New York on Continental and connecting from there to Orlando? The 'door to door' time is the pretty much the same as the Virgin option in both directions and when you fly home you won't have to connect from London after a long transatlantic flight.

If you aren't flying until next summer I wouldn't bet my house on BA still having a domestic network by then if the last few years is anything to go by.[msnmad]

we often do this with virgin who do have a flight from here but about £500 more last year , if you book your domestic with virgin the luggage allowance will stay the same.we have paid as little as£25 for these flights , just depends what's available .best to ask virgin .

Karen, just curious any reason for going to Gatwick and not the nearer option of Manchester?

We are travelling with family who are flying from Gatwick,so thought it might be an option to go down to Gatwick to join them. Now though I am not so sure!
