    Car Hire for 8

Hi there. First time requesting infomation / advise. Also First time travelling to FLorida. We are a party of 8 travelling to Florida in August. Could anyone advise best car / van option that would enable the party to travel together whilst in Florida and also allow the transfer of luggage (appox 2 large case , 4 mid size case , 4 holdall) from airport to villa.

I would suggest a 10 seater upwards, in 2003 there were ten of us. 6 Adults & 4 Kids, we hired a 15 seater and found that we had enough room for all of us plus cases, if you click on the Car Hire Link above you will be able to view the Vehicles.

    Hi Harish,

    Welcome to the forum.

I suppose the best option would be to go for a 12 seater mini van, as there would be loads of room in it for eight of you.

Another option would be to go for the 8 seater SUV from Budget, and an intermediate sized car as well. This way, you could all travel together in the 8 seater, or go in separate directions if you want to do different things.

Have a look through the car hire site here, and you will get a better idea of what your option are.

    Have a great holiday.

    Thanks folks. Much Appreciated.
Will have a look at the 8 seater SUV option.
One question though. Is it possible to hire for one way travel (Airport to Villa) at the airport? This would solve the problem of lugagge. Can always get a taxi on the return.

look out for a ford excursion , or a ford expedition EL

they are both 8 seaters and you will have enough room in the back for 10 cases easily.
i only know as i take 10 of us to & from the airport with 10+cases on the return in ours.

better than a 12 seater mini van , as you dont have the luggage room in the buses...too many seats

    Hi Trish

Ive got the same dilemma and want to book the 8 seater suv, are you saying I dont need an extra one way car for the luggage? There are 8 of us travelling with luggage.

    Thanks

we own an excursion here in the UK, we always get 10 (although it should be 8 as only 8 seat belts)of us in, especially for the airport run, there is enough room for all our suitcases & a little more if you use the area under you feet too.
cant find any pics of it loaded up to the roof but you can do it.

they are a little nerving to drive at first due to the size but it should work out cheaper to rent than 2 cars.
the excursion is the biggest SUV you can get, the Expedition EL is the new one as they stopped manufacturing the Excursion in 2005.
to give you an idea of size , click below

    happy to help
